FIA to ‘strip’ F1 racer

If BAR's F1 ban isn't enough inspiration, the governing FIA may thoroughly inspect a point-scoring car at all grands prix. Max Mosley said he hoped the Brackley based team's punishment is a deterrent to any other potential race cheats. ''The message this sends,'' the governing body's president added, ''is that we insist everybody races to the same rules.''

To enforce the point, he said one car in the top eight places could be 'taken to bits' – to ensure its legality – after each F1 event. ''Maybe we should (do that),'' Max wondered.

One possible downside to the plan, though, is the amount of time – six hours at Imola – it would take before the official race result is declared. GMMF1
