Sauber needs more money

Is Sauber another team on the brink of financial ruin? Team boss Peter Sauber says he can't afford to pay for changes necessary to their C24 to improve its performance. "The Michelin tire needs more weight on the front end of the car, so you would design a car with the engine moved forward and with a longer gearbox," the Swiss revealed. “Michelin tires also require different settings of the suspension which ultimately would lead to another gearbox," he added, before admitting his squad’s inability to perform such alterations: “All that, given our financial background, is simply not possible to do with the C24."
