Chennai to bid for Indian GP?

India's on-off bid for a F1 grand prix is back in the 'on' position. The hugely populated country's first ever local F1 star, Narain Karthikeyan, popped in on the chief minister of (state) Tamil Nadu on Monday. He urged Ms. Jayalalithaa to build a track in home city Chennai and bid for a grand prix. ''She seemed very determined to bring F1 to the state,'' 28-year-old Karthikeyan told The Hindu. Jayalalithaa, 'fully supportive' of the idea according to the Indian media, told Jordan's Karthikeyan she had already written to the Prime Minister seeking support for a F1-style circuit.
