Summit to oust Sir Jackie

A special meeting of British GP venue Silverstone's track-owning 'BRDC' could see Sir Jackie Stewart stripped of presidency. But in a statement, the British Racing Drivers' Club board backed the Scot and former triple world F1 champion. ''We … recommend that members vote against the removal of Sir Jackie,'' it advised. Stewart, 65, furtively pointed a finger at ousted chairman Ray Bellm (a 'wounded animal') and a small band of disgruntled Club members. He said: ''I am looking forward to answering this misleading whispering campaign.''
