Hearn to drive for Schmidt

UPDATE This rumor is upgraded to 'fact' today. Sam Schmidt Motorsports has named IRL IndyCar® Series veteran Richie Hearn as the driver of the No. 70 Meijer/Coca-Cola Special at the 89th Indianapolis 500. Schmidt's entry will be a Chevrolet-powered Panoz chassis, with major sponsorship from traditional Indy team sponsor Meijer stores and Coca-Cola. Sam Schmidt Motorsports is the defending champion of the IRL Menards Infiniti Pro Series, and won the season-opening Miami 100 with rookie driver Travis Gregg. 03/27/05 Look for Richie Hearn to drive for Sam Schmidt Motorsports in this year's Indy 500. An announcement is expected Monday.
