BMW set for Grove split?

(GMMf1NET) If BMW buy Sauber, Sir Frank Williams' team may no longer be powered by the German carmaker. Despite the existence of a contract to 2009, speculation at Albert Park last weekend suggested that Munich-based BMW – in the sixth year of collaboration at Grove – is just about fed-up with Williams' failure to deliver a title-winning car.

''I don't want to speculate,'' motor sport director Dr Mario Theissen said. 'We do want to be a top team. If we cannot be a top team, then it will become a priority to consider our strategy.''
