Stoddart may quit F1

(GMMF1.NET) A political cease fire prevailed at Albert Park on Sunday, in the wake of a weekend of argument and intrigue featuring Paul Stoddart, Ferrari, and the FIA. Australian GP chairman Ron Walker, despite more meetings in the paddock and another this week in London, dismissed the governing body's threat to axe Melbourne.

'(The race is) not in jeopardy at all,'' said the tall Australian. In the 'Australian' newspaper, though, Stoddart – 'bloody knackered' after days without sleep – admitted he may be forced to sell Minardi, and urged Max Mosley to also step aside. ''We're both pretty damaged (now). I'd be prepared to leave … if it meant the long term survivability of F1.''
