Jourdain to drive at Daytona

Mexican newspaper Reforma is reporting that Michel Jourdain will start the 2005 season in Daytona. Apparently OCESA, PPC Racing, and his sponsor asked NASCAR to allow him to run in Daytona. To arrive at the decision NASCAR reviewed his Champ Car performance in the past at Superspeedways such as Michigan and Fontana. NASCAR said yes over the weekend. Now Jourdain will prepare to run in the February 19th 300-miler the day before the Daytona 500. We await a formal announcement from the team or NASCAR. Héctor Serrano reporting from Mexico
