Midland also eyes Davidson

Jordan, who have been taken over by Canadian billionaire Alex Shnaider's Midland group, have no drivers for the new season that starts on 6 March. "Davidson is one of my favorite drivers," said Midland F1 managing director Colin Kolles. "He is also one of the favorites of team manager Trevor Carlin, but it's not only our decision." Davidson, who is the BAR team's official reserve driver, raced for Carlin in British Formula Three. "We were looking at Davidson for a long time but we will see if we can find a solution. It's not that easy," added Kolles. It's not a question of him being expensive, that's not a problem." The Englishman was offered a test with Williams this winter but was unable to take it following a contractual dispute between Williams and BAR. Midland, who took over Jordan on Monday after buying all the team's shares, are also interested in bringing in Mexican Mario Dominguez, who races in the US-based Champ Car series. BBC Sport
