Toyota could leave F1

As they head into their fourth season of F1 with one of the biggest budgets, the Panasonic Toyota Racing team must finish on the podium at least once in 2005. "F1 has been harder than we expected, but that just means that it's a challenge worthy of our attentions," said Akihiko Saito, Toyota Vice President. “However, we can't afford to keep going without getting better results. We have simply invested too much money in the project. Next year I demand a podium finish." Taking Saito by his word, if they don't get a podium in 2005 it does not pay for them to keep pumping money down the F1 rathole, which could mean they will quit.
