ISC may have to build LRT in NY

Staten Island, NY Borough President James Molinaro says he is still undecided about whether he supports the 80,000-seat NASCAR racetrack proposed for Bloomfield, but he said he was "not impressed" with a traffic plan for the project presented by International Speedway Corp. (ISC). "They have a lot more work to do," Molinaro said of the racetrack planners. "There were a lot of weaknesses in their presentation." Molinaro said he wants ISC to build a light-rail transit system here that can be used year-round, not just during NASCAR's three projected race weekends. "To me, that's a starting point," said Molinaro.
