Van Hooydonk eyes Minardi seat

A few weeks ago Belgian Jeffrey van Hooydonk was offered a test with the Minardi team at Misano (Italy). Since then his management has been in touch with the team. "Our contact with Stoddart is very good," van Hooydonk's father said. "We're working to secure Minardi's third seat for 2005. Nothing is signed yet. We just do our best." Van Hooydonk might take over from his countryman Bas Leinders, who tested with the team in 2004. "We will try to secure a two-year deal. Testing in 2005 and racing in 2006."
