Layoffs at McLaren

The Woking News and Mail is reporting that 48 jobs may be terminated at McLaren because of uncertainty over the future of a new concept car called Project 8. The new car has been frozen by McLaren and Mercedes-Benz because of "challenges currently faced by the global automotive industry". This is interesting given the plans for the new car, which aimed to take the McLaren name into a bigger role in car production, following up on the SLR.
