Morning update from Indianapolis

Good morning from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Today will be perfect weather for the race this afternoon. The sun is shinning and the temperature will in the low 70s later.

Quite the difference from yesterday's cool morning.

The new rule this season is that the drivers are not allowed to use their push to pass on the first lap of the race. So heading into turn one, no one should be on the button. Does that make the drivers slow down enough to all make it through the first turn? We will see today.

Sebastien Bourdais, driver of the Sonny's BBQ number 18, had a thing to say about the push to pass yesterday when asked about the difficultly of making it through turn one in one piece. "It's a pretty big track, so I hope traffic doesn't really become a problem, but you know, it can always be. At Long Beach there were a couple of cars that were using the push not to be passed. Hopefully, we won't have to worry about that today", Bourdais commented.

IndyCars take the track for warmup at 11 am. Race time is 3:30 pm.
