SPM and KECO Team Up for 2017
KECO Coatings, which supplies coating processes to high-performance industries, has sponsored SPM co-owner Sam Schmidt since he began his career as an IndyCar driver in 1997.
"KECO is an extremely important sponsor because its relationship with me goes all the way back to my first year driving an Indy car," Schmidt said. "It continually works to improve its coatings."
KECO relies on feedback from SPM to research, develop and improve its coating processes. KECO applies data gathered from SPM's various race cars to improve its coatings used on pistons, exhaust systems, wheels, suspension components, gearbox housings and racing equipment.
"Sam's highly successful IndyCar program, which sat on the Indy 500 pole and has multiple victories in the Verizon IndyCar Series, has been particularly satisfying to us, as it's an example of KECO's technology at work," said Mike Klinge, president of KECO Coatings. "We are happy to continue our relationship with Sam and SPM with their entries in the Verizon IndyCar Series."
