Ford to renew with Champ Car

Ford's sponsorship of the Champ Car World Series ends after 2004. AutoRacing1.com asked Ford's Richard Parry-Jones in London today if there would be an announcement soon that would see Ford continue that relationship. Parry-Jones said, “I am not prepared to address that today," but Kevin Kalkhoven said, “We have a very good relationship with Ford and we expect that we will continue that relationship." Champ Car has been in deep negotiations with the portion of Ford that oversees Canada, Latin America and South America. The VP of that operation, Anne Stevens, has been at a number of Champ Car races recently and hinted at the awards banquet that Ford was very excited about Champ Car and would likely continue with the series.
