Kumho and Midland

(GMM — Nov.10) Korean tire brand Kumho might team up with new Formula One team 'Midland F1' in 2006, the rumor mill is whispering. Both current F1 suppliers, Bridgestone and Michelin, said they had not been in touch with the Russia-backed outfit, or other new team Dubai F1. ''We would welcome a discussion once (the teams') plans are fixed,'' a Bridgestone spokesperson told website F1Racing.net. It is thought logical, meanwhile, that Dubai – in collaboration with Michelin-clad F1 team McLaren-Mercedes – will also wear French-made tires in 2006. A Michelin spokesperson admitted: ''It would make sense … but at the moment we have not spoken to them.''
