International TV coming together for Champ Car

Progress continues to be made on the 2005 Champ Car international TV deals. We have heard bits and pieces. For example, we hear that races will be shown live in Chile, Argentina and Brazil next year, all on terrestrial TV. A deal to be live in 40 European countries is nearing completion, and the Latin America deal, including live TV for Mexico, and Middle East deal are all nearing completion. The Asia TV deal is not as close, but progress is being made. The person putting the deals together is very well connected in worldwide TV circles. This is excellent news for Champ Car, because as we have written, with the series morphing into a F1-type international series, the international TV deal is even more important than the USA TV deal.
