Button and manager to split

(GMM) Jenson Button may be trying to escape from the wing of manager John Byfield, according to speculation. The young driver's image took a hard knock when Byfield found a 'loophole' in the BAR contract and engineered a switch in 2005 to Williams. But, worse, the matter is still pending as the FIA's 'Contract Recognition Board' convenes on Saturday to determine which team has a more solid hold on the 24-year-old Briton. The CRB, according to the F1 paddock, is most likely to rule in BAR's favor, thus compelling Williams to pay compensation to get their man, or leaving Button to spend a presumably acrimonious final year at Brackley.
