1000 HP engines in F1 in 2005

Japanese engine manufacturer Honda believes it can raise the standard in the Formula 1 powers takes by hitting the mythical 1000bhp engine figure some time next season. In an exclusive interview with Autosport magazine this week, Honda's F1 project leader Takeo Kiuchi believes the power figure not reached since the latter years of turbo engines in the 1980's is now achievable. “It's within reach," said Kiuchi, who has no doubts about the amount of progress Honda believes it can make over the winter. “Next year, I think we will have the most powerful engine in F1. The difference between this year's and next year's engine is bigger than between this year's and last's." Autosport
