Trans Am Announces 12-race broadcast package on CBS Sports Network

The Trans Am Race Company today announced a 12-race broadcast platform for the 2017 Trans Am Championship, presented by Pirelli, bringing six Trans Am events throughout the 2017 schedule to a national audience on CBS Sports Network.

Each selected Trans Am event will have both 100-mile races, a multiclass TA, TA3 and TA4 race as well as an independent TA2 race, broadcast independently in a one-hour format.

Venues currently selected for broadcast include the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear, Brainerd International Raceway, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and Road America—all returning events broadcast in 2016. They will be joined in 2017 by Trans Am’s inaugural races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway alongside the Sports Car Vintage Racing Association and the coming together of Trans Am and the Trans Am West Coast Championship at Circuit of The Americas.

“We’re pleased to once more showcase the Trans Am Series, our drivers, teams and competitors to fans nationwide on CBS Sports Network," said John Clagett, President of The Trans Am Race Company. “We will continue to work towards securing additional event partners with the end goal of expanding this broadcast platform as the season progresses."

“We at Carolinas Production Group are pleased to again serve as Trans Am’s exclusive TV partner for the fourth consecutive season," said Rick Benjamin, Principal of Carolinas Production Group. “This will be our most exciting season yet, covering iconic events at Detroit, Mid-Ohio, Road America and Brainerd— all iconic tracks for the series. To add coverage at COTA and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a dream come true for all of us. We can’t wait to start!"

Trans Am will commence its 2017 championship on March 4-5 at Sebring International Raceway with 76 cars currently entered.
