Speed and Foust win semifinal races (Update 1)

UPDATE Real quick note:

It is pouring here at RFK Stadium with about 10 minutes to go before the start of the Supercar LCQ. The Supercar final is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. local time, and my guess is this shower will pass through before that. Still, rain However, as of now (1:05 p.m.) we are getting absolutely pelted here, and the media tent is beginning to flood. I'm going to sign off and try to stay dry.

07/30/16 The semifinals are complete here at Washington D.C. Red Bull Global Rallycross. Once again, the VW Andretti Beetles swept the semifinals with Scott Speed winning the first and Tanner Foust the second. Foust, however, had to work for the win.

On the penultimate lap, Bryan Herta Rallysport driver surged from third place past Foust into the lead after taking The Joker. However, the driver of the No. 34 Rockstar Energy Drink Beetle got alongside the Swede in the dirt section on the final lap. Foust would move ahead as the two approached the checkered flag taking the semifinal win.

Next up for the GRC Supercars will be the Last Chance Qualifier. Steve Arpin, Nelson Piquet Jr., Bucky Lasek, Austin Dyne and Sverre Isachsen will make up the LCQ with the last-place finisher not advancing to the final.
