Strong Support For Castrol Edge Townsville 400

A total crowd of 145,411 fans has attended this year’s Castrol EDGE Townsville 400.

Supercars Chief Executive James Warburton said the attendance over three days was five per cent down on last year, in line with expectations.

“We know these are challenging times for Townsville but we are delighted by the strong support of our loyal and passionate fans in this great city. This event means a lot to the people of Townsville and North Queensland, as it does to all our teams and drivers," he said.

“As well as the fans, I want to thank the Queensland Government and Castrol for their outstanding support and we are excited to be bringing this fantastic event back to Townsville till at least 2019."
