Newgarden tops Detroit GP morning warmup

Practice just ended for the IndyCars. Two small incidents on track, James Hinchcliffe spun and gently back into the wall and then Mikhail Aleshin spun on red tires.

No major damage. Only 2 drivers used reds for practice, Tony Kanaan also went out on reds. With rain in for the forecast for sometime during the race, we might end up on wet tires. And that would solve the red tires have to used during the race issue. I am sure we will be watching the radar to see where those rain clouds are.
