Pirelli started developing 2017 tires with Vergne at Fiorano

Jean-Eric Vergne is back in an F1 car today; the Ferrari test driver drove the Ferrari F14-T to work on Pirelli’s 2017 tire compounds at the Fiorano test track.

Pirelli has revealed that Vergne’s 2014-spec Ferrari F1 car is fitted with tires that are the 2016 size and contain a number of prototype elements as it begins preparations ahead of next year.

The 26-year-old Frenchman recently said that Pirelli’s extra testing opportunities could provide him with a chance to run for the Scuderia.
