Mediapro Deploys F1 Coverage

For the second year in a row, Spain's Mediapro is "deploying its Formula One network" across Latin America, reaching 7 million homes out of nearly 70 million pay-TV households, according to Juan Fernandez Gonzalez of RAPID TV NEWS.

For the upcoming Formula 1 season, Mediapro's Canal F1 Latin America "will broadcast the whole championship in HD," with 11 Grands Prix being exclusive to the network, namely Bahrain, Russia, Spain, Canada, Azerbaijan, Austria, Hungary, Malaysia, Japan, the U.S. and Abu Dhabi.

In addition, the channel "will showcase the tests and qualifying rounds of each race," and the GP2, GP3 and Porsche Super Cup competitions, along with historical races. Every weekend, "over 30 hours of live programming will be aired." Rapid TV News
