Phoenix International Raceway Hosts ‘Prix View’ Inaugural Indycar Testing Session

Phoenix International Raceway invites fans and media to the “Prix View" Inaugural Testing Event for the Verizon IndyCar Series on Feb. 27, PIR President Bryan R. Sperber announced today. The event will feature nearly the entire field of drivers and teams as they prepare to race under the lights in the Phoenix Grand Prix on Saturday night, April 2, 2016.

“This is a great opportunity for our fans to have the first chance to see Indy Cars on track at Phoenix International Raceway in 2016," Sperber said. “The Prix View Inaugural Indy Car testing event will be a way for our race fans to get a taste of the Verizon IndyCar Series and the biggest stars in open-wheel racing prior to the Phoenix Grand Prix in April."

Fans are encouraged to come out to PIR and enjoy free access to see the Verizon IndyCar Series on the one-mile oval for the first time since 2005. Gates will open at 11:30 a.m. and fans will have the opportunity to watch drivers on track for testing sessions beginning at 12 – 3 p.m. and again from 5 – 8 p.m. under the lights.

Over 20 drivers will also be available up close at an autograph session on the Fan Midway from 3:45 – 4:30 p.m. Drivers will be separated into two (2) groups with one-hundred (100) wristbands distributed for each line. Fans can obtain an autograph wristband from the PIR Booth beginning at 11:30 a.m. while supplies last. In addition to seeing the first public appearance of the Indy cars on track, fans will also be able to snap photos with the IndyCar Show Car and can win ZOOMTOWN, U.S.A.® PIR gear by downloading the PIR Mobile App.

Parking for the Prix View Verizon IndyCar Series Test Session is free and can be found by following directional signage. Concessions will be open on the Fan Midway at the Allison Grandstands and tickets for future Phoenix International Raceway events can be purchased in the Octane Elevator Lobby.

Tickets for the Phoenix Grand Prix are on sale, with prices ranging from $35-70, and each ticket will include access to Pit Road. Tickets for children are $10; and active-duty military members and veterans will receive discounted pricing as well. Fans can purchase tickets online at PhoenixRaceway.com and by phone at 866-408-RACE (7223).
