Fernando Alonso's "McLaren crisis, the lack of competition between the teams and the supremacy of the same team (Mercedes), year after year, has reportedly weakened the Spanish audience's interest in Formula 1," according to LIBERTAD DIGITAL.

Broadcaster Antena 3's coverage of F1 drew less than 25 million viewers, its worst figures since '03. In '14 the broadcaster's F1 coverage drew a total of around 65 million viewers. LIBERTAD DIGITAL
