Tony Kanaan is the latest driver to have a procedure in the off-season – he and wife Lauren used Instagram to document it Monday.
A spokesperson for Chip Ganassi Racing confirmed to USA TODAY Sports that the 2004 IndyCar champion underwent a hernia repair in Miami. Kanaan, who won the 2013 Indianapolis 500, is an avid biker and recently completed the Ironman 70.3 triathlon – also in Miami – with teammate and reigning IndyCar champion Scott Dixon.
Kanaan is not expected to miss any time in the car. He was a member of Ganassi’s Rolex 24 winning team this season and is expected to be in the mix to compete again at the event in January.
