Bianchi funeral set for Tuesday

Jules Bianchi's funeral will take place in his hometown of Nice on Tuesday.

The French Formula One driver died on Friday from head injuries sustained in a crash at last year's Japanese Grand Prix. Bianchi, 25, had been in a coma since the crash on Oct. 5.

The funeral will start at 10 a.m. (8 a.m. GMT) at the Sainte Reparate Cathedral. Executives from the Manor-Marussia F1 team are expected to attend, as well as FIA president Jean Todt and his son Nicolas Todt, Bianchi's manager in F1.

Only Jules' family, close friends and colleagues will be permitted entry into the Cathedral itself.

Outside the Cathedral is a large Place, where it is anticipated that members of the general public will gather. This area will be controlled by the Town Hall.

Also in their jurisdiction is a separate area for media, which is for viewing purposes only. This area will be separated into zones by genre. Media accreditation will be managed by Elodie Ching of Metropole Nice Cote d'Azur and this is for access to the media area only. We can confirm that there will be no interviews and we would ask that Jules' family, friends and colleagues are respected at this time.
