Some teams get inspection penalties at Richmond

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Director Richard Buck sent a memo to teams this week about receiving warnings and penalties if they did not get through inspections in a timely fashion. Tommy Baldwin Racing's #7-team with driver Alex Bowman will be penalized 15 minutes of practice time next week at Talladega Superspeedway for failing to pass pre-qualifying inspection three times.

Two Sprint Cup teams received warnings for failing to get through qualifying inspection twice. Those teams were the #98 car of Phil Parsons Racing (driver Josh Wise) and the #32 car of Go Green Racing (Joey Gase). NASCAR also stated that seven Xfinity teams will be penalized 15 minutes of practice next week at Talladega for being late to pre-qualfying inspection.

Those cars are the #03 car of Mike Affarano Motorsports (Johanna Long), the #1 car of Roush Fenway Racing (Elliott Sadler), the #4 car of JD Motorsports (Ross Chastain), the #22 car of Team Penske (Joey Logano), the #54 car of Joe Gibbs Racing (Erik Jones), the #62 car of Richard Childress Racing (Brendan Gaughan) and the #97 car of Obaika Racing (Peyton Sellers).
