Marussia equipment on the block (2nd Update)

UPDATE #2 The assets of "collapsed F1 team Marussia are to be sold at auction," according to the BBC. The team "ceased trading in early November, nearly two weeks after being placed in administration, making about 200 staff redundant." Administrators FRP Advisory confirmed the Banbury-based team "had folded after failed efforts to find a buyer."

Among the items being sold off in an online auction are "race and show cars, trailers, testing gear and office equipment." While the '14 Marussia race cars are "part of the sale, their engines are not included." Auctioneers have "not put a reserve price on any of the items." Marussia became the "second F1 team to be placed in administration this autumn after the Caterham team also folded in October." The auction "takes the form of a live webcast and online sales" and runs from Dec. 16-18 and on Jan. 21.

Assets belonging to Marussia will be auctioned off at the team's Banbury base in two weeks' time, by order of FRP Advisory, the administrators of the Formula 1 outfit.

Marussia entered administration after the Russian Grand Prix but a last minute bid to save the squad and allow it to return to action in Abu Dhabi failed to materialize.

FRP Advisory has now ordered the complete closure of the Formula 1 team's headquarters.

CA Global Partners, the company behind the auction, posted a list of Marussia's equipment on its website which is set to be auctioned off from the team's base across December 16-17.

Items up for sale include Marussia's race cars – including the embryonic 2015 model – trailers, test lab, machine shop and other spare parts.

Despite its absence from the final three races, Marussia claimed ninth place in the Constructors' Championship, courtesy of the two points scored by Jules Bianchi in Monaco.
