Big Jim Dunn goes under the knife

Earlier today, NHRA's Big Jim Dunn, who turned 80 this year, underwent surgery for colon cancer. The doctors say the 2 ½ hour surgery went well and Jim did great. By late this afternoon Jim was talking, telling jokes and enjoying the flowers that NHRA sent him.

The Dunn family said they are feeling very blessed and want to thank everyone for their kind words and well wishes. Jim is at Long Beach Memorial Hospital in Long Beach, CA. Friends are welcome to send flowers, but Jim’s family is requesting no visitors.
