COTA To Claim Tax Bill Is More Than Double What It Should Be

Circuit of the Americas managers are arguing that the $7M-plus property tax bill the Austin track received in January is "more than 2 and 1/2 times higher than it should be." COTA and the local government "have been in district court since the fall," and the track in a separate hearing today "will argue that government appraisers are trying to overvalue the track for the second year in a row." Track President Jason Dial "declined to speak to the specifics of the case, citing the ongoing lawsuit," but he said that the tax bill "would require the track to add $50 in taxes for each ticket sold."
