KVSH Racing's Sebastien Bourdais led Thursday morning's opening practice session for the Grand Prix of Indianapolis. Practice session 2 will begin at 2 p.m. ET.
The ambient temperature was 70 degrees with a relative humidity of 76 percent and winds from the north at 7 mph. Skies were sunny. The track temperature was 94 degrees, according to Firestone engineers.
#67 Newgarden went off course in Turn 4.
