Eddie Cheever III to Make Sportscar Debut at Monterey
The 20-year-old second-generation driver will join Jack Gerber at the wheel of the AF Corse-run Ferrari GTD entry, which is contesting the Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup as well as other select rounds.
“The opportunity to drive a Spirit of Race/AF Corse-prepared Ferrari on a world-class circuit like Laguna Seca is a dream come true," said Cheever III.
“I can’t think of a better experience, both race car and racetrack, for my first race in the United States. I also am thrilled to share the car with Jack Gerber for the weekend. I think we will make a fantastic team and cannot thank him enough for the invitation."
Cheever III, who won the 2012 Italian European F3 Championship, is competing in the NASCAR Whelen EuroSeries this year, as well as coming off a double victory in the EUROV8 Series at Monza earlier this month.
