Strong Debut For IMSA.com At Rolex 24

IMSA.com, the official website of the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA), was created with race fans in mind.

The website was designed and built based on feedback from the fans, including the enhanced Race Central feature which made its debut during the 52nd Rolex 24 At Daytona, the inaugural race of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship and the Tequila Patr¢n North American Endurance Cup.

Race Central is the race-weekend hub on IMSA.com. At the Rolex 24, it included live in-car camera feeds, the live overnight broadcast, live timing and scoring and minute-by-minute Twitter updates. The live stream of the race saw a 360 percent increase over the most-viewed 2013 American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patr¢n race streamed on ALMS.com.

These features led to more fan interaction than ever: from Thursday, Jan. 22 through Sunday, Jan. 26 – the four days of Rolex 24 on-track activity – IMSA.com eclipsed the total number of page views on GRAND-AM.com for all of 2013.

Additionally, nearly half of the visitors had not previously visited the site prior to Rolex 24 race weekend. Visitors averaged 15 pages viewed and stayed on the site for almost 20 minutes per visit.

“We were confident there would be a significant increase in traffic with this year’s Rolex 24, but these figures exceeded our projections and exposed our sport to new audiences," said IMSA Vice President, Marketing David Pettit. “We will continue to listen to our fans to provide the content and enhancements they want and expect."

Positive digital momentum was not limited to IMSA.com, as the hashtag #Rolex24 dominated the motorsports conversation in social media. Rolex 24 Twitter mentions year over year increased by more than 100 percent. On Facebook, the TUDOR Championship page generated nearly three million impressions during race week.
