Bruno Senna To Make Brazilian Stock Car Debut

Bruno Senna will make his Brazilian Stock Car Championship debut at Interlagos on December 15th.

Senna, who took two victories in the GTE Pro class of the 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship and another in the GTE Am class, will race alongside Valdeno Brito and Popo Bueno in a GT Team Raizen-sponsored car. It will mark the first time a member of the Senna family has competed in the series.

“This is going to be a landmark in my career as it will represent my first race in a domestic championship", stated the thirty-year-old, nephew of Ayrton Senna. “It is going to be a tough challenge given the level of the drivers and the competitiveness of the series."

Former Formula 1 driver Senna will receive a three hour test session on Friday morning to get used to the car and its push to pass feature, which takes the car from 48-bhp up to 600bhp. “I’ve been racing in GTE and so a car with a roof is not totally unknown for me," he added. “I already know the track, which is a good news, but of course I will look for the guys who also raced in Formula 1 to get some tips and ideas."

The season finale will see reigning champion Caca Bueno try to defend his title, with Thiago Camilo currently leading the standings from Daniel Serra, Ricardo Mauricio and Bueno.
