Blaney scores another impressive truck win at Pocono

Up and coming development driver Ryan Blaney produced two great restarts, during a double green-white-checker scenario, to win the Pocono Mountains 125 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at the Pocono Raceway. Blaney earned his second series win in only 20 series starts. He led a race high 20 laps of the scheduled 50, which became 54 laps, around the raceway'…s 2.5 mile triangular shaped configuration.

Driving a Ford owned by NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Brad Keselowski, Blaney finished a mere 0.271 seconds ahead of Miguel Paludo who scored a personal best finish. German Quiroga, Joey Coulter and Ross Chastain, in a second Brad Keselowski Ford completed the top five.

Following a lap one crash, the race ran all the way to lap 42 when a second yellow flag, for debris, appeared. Todd Bodine, driving a one race deal for Turner Scott Motorsports, was leading the race at the time. But on the restart there was rear bumper contact between Bodine and his Turner Scott team mate James Buescher. Bodine went spinning around which led to another caution and the first green-white-checker attempt.

The second G-W-C attempt developed after Ty Dillon collided into Johnny Sauter. The result was a tense face to face discussion between the two drivers on pit road after the race. This incident follows a similar one that occurred during the series' famed dirt track event held July 24th at the Eldora Speedway. Tempers flared on that night when, during a heat race, the two drivers did some door slamming on each other.

After the race, Dillon's spotter sent a "Twitter" message saying he though his driver was clear to pull in front of Sauter and the accident was his fault. Sauter replied with a "Tweet" that suggested Dillon should take some of the money that he has and invest in a new spotter. Fortunately, the series has the next weekend off and that should give these two drivers a little cool down time.

Series points leader Matt Crafton finished eighth in this race and scored his 11th, consecutive, top ten finish in a row. He elevated his lead to 52 points in the standings over Jeb Burton. Ryan Blaney's race win moved him to third in the standings 62 points out of first.

During a post race tech inspection it was determined that the ride height on the Toyota Tundra driven by Timothy Peters was too low. Penalties from NASCAR could be coming later next week.
