Texas Final Practice Report

Tony Kanaan got things fixed. Visibly angry after qualification, he was the fastest in the final practice at 218.551. James Hinchcliffe was a tick slower at 217.575. Will Power, Scott Dixon, and James Jakes rounded out the top 5.

James Jakes has been vocal in his opposition to running tall banked ovals such at Texas. However, he told me today that his comfort level is growing. Tonight’s strong showing might even make him enjoy the experience.

Also getting up to speed were Takuma Sato, who didn’t get to qualify due to transmission woes, but was 6th fastest. Pippa Mann got her car to 10th on the speed chart.

Noticeably slow were the race favorites – Graham Rahal, Marco Andretti and Justin Wilson took up the bottom 3 spots.
