Fellows will race road courses for Circle Sport Racing

Sports-car veteran Ron Fellows will drive in the two Sprint Cup Series road course events this year for Circle Sport Racing.

The team has mostly used Landon Cassill as its driver but has tapped the road-course ace to fill the seat for the June 23 race at Sonoma and the Aug. 11 race at Watkins Glen. Fellows has four Nationwide Series wins (three at Watkins Glen, one at Montreal) and two truck wins (both at Watkins Glen) to go along with 23 career Cup starts in his NASCAR career.

Circle Sport has an alliance with Richard Childress Racing, which helps field cars for the team in select races.

“Ron’s longtime affiliation with GM Racing and our relationship with RCR made this possible, and we’re looking forward to giving Ron the opportunity to add to the list of his accomplishments in his racing career," Circle Sport team owner Joe Falk said.

Fellows will bring sponsorship from Canadian Tire, which holds the naming rights to the road course (formerly known as Mosport) that Fellows owns in Canada.
