Pippa Mann gets ride for Texas

Dale Coyne Racing announced Tuesday that Pippa Mann will drive the No. 18 entry at Texas Motor Speedway this coming weekend.

The 29 year-old will rejoin Dale Coyne Racing after driving for the team at the Indianapolis 500 two weeks ago.

Speaking about the announcement, Mann said: “I am very excited to be back with Dale Coyne Racing for the Firestone 550k at Texas Motor Speedway. We had a great car at the Indianapolis 500 and I am looking forward to bringing the team a good finish there Saturday night under the lights. It’s exciting to be in the No. 18 car that finished 15th in the Indianapolis 500 and finished first & third this past weekend in Detroit."

“We are excited to have Pippa back with the team for Texas," said Team Owner, Dale Coyne. “She was moving up through the field during the Indianapolis 500 and if she wouldn’t have had contact with the wall I think she would have had a top finish that day."

The Firestone 550 at Texas Motor Speedway can be seen live on ABC-TV on Saturday, June 8 starting at 8:30 PM (EDT). This is the first time the IZOD IndyCar Series as been televised in primetime on national television.
