Colombians 1-2 in Indy Lights race at Long Beach

Starting from the pole position, Carlos Munoz has won today's Firestone Indy Lights race in Long Beach, driving the No. 26 Dialy-Ser machine. Gabby Chavez, another Colombian, was 2nd followed by Zach Veach.

This is the fourth career Firestone Indy Lights victory (in 15 starts) for the 21-year-old native of Colombia. His most recent win came last week at the Legacy 100 in Birmingham, Ala.

Munoz previously raced in the Formula 3 Euroseries from 2010-2011 and competed in the Formula Renault Eurocup from 2007-2009.

"In the beginning I think I did a really good start, so Jack (Hawksworth) got nervous or something and there was a big crash behind me, I don't know what really happened I just saw it in the mirrors," said Munoz. "After that it was my race, I knew that Peter (Dempsey) and Jack were some of my two biggest competitors on the track for the championship and they were out, so I was taking it easy. The main key was to finish, but it was a really good car for a second victory of the season, I had a really great car."
