Indy Star also supports Indy 500 night race

On the heels of AR1.com saying on numerous occasions that the Indy 500 needs to be run as a night race if they want a big increase in TV ratings, comes this from the Indy Star:

Question: I’m so glad you agree that if there is going to be night race let it be IndyCar rather than NASCAR. To me that would be a real slap in the face to the 500 and all of the loyal IndyCar supporters over the years. (Rob, Scottsdale, Ariz.)

Answer: My thought is, the first night race would be extremely special, and it’s going to give that race a big ratings bump. Thus, it needs to be IndyCar if it happens at all. Curt Cavin Indy Star
