Layoffs at IndyCar teams

KV Racing Technology, which at this point will go from being a three-car team this year to having just one car in 2013, released more than two dozen employees, including team manager Tom Wurtz. The resignation of general manager Mark Johnson was announced as well.

Other IndyCar teams are more in the cost-savings mode. Panther Racing and Ganassi Racing were among those laying off non-essential personnel. But many of those people will be hired back in January as season preparations ramp up.
