Qualification Round 1 results

A tough off by Graham Rahal with less than 3 minutes remaining ended the first round of qualifications early. Graham got it wrong in the infamous railroad chicane and smacked both walls. In calling the session, IndyCar was praised by 6 drivers and criticized by 6 others. Moving to the next round: Kanaan, Dixon, Junqueira, Conway and Kimball. Missing the cut are Hunter-Reay, Tagliani, Barrichello, Sato, de Silvestro, and of course Rahal.
