Penske on Rusty Wallace NASCAR Hall of Fame selection

The No. 2 Miller-sponsored car has visited Victory Lane 50 times in NASCAR Sprint Cup competition, with 37 of those wins coming with Rusty Wallace behind the wheel. Wallace drove Penske Racing’s No. 2 from 1991-2005. His most-successful season came in 1993 when he picked up a series-leading 10 wins.

Below are comments from Roger Penske and MillerCoors on the heels of Wallace’s selection as a member of the 2013 class to be inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

“We are proud of the successful legacy of the No. 2 Miller Lite car and Rusty Wallace is a large part of that. There was never any doubt, in my mind, that he would quickly become a Hall of Famer. Each of his 37 wins in the iconic Miller car will be forever etched in the history of Penske Racing. We thank Rusty for all of his contributions to our organization and congratulate him on becoming one of the newest members of the NASCAR Hall of Fame."

“We couldn’t be more proud of our long association with Rusty Wallace. His competitive fire on the track and friendly, engaging personality off the track made Rusty a great ambassador for Miller and our beers. Whether it was fans, retailers, distributors or employees, anyone who had the chance to enjoy a Miller Time moment with Rusty came away impressed. All of us at MillerCoors will be raising a Miller Lite in his honor this weekend."
