Dyson team withdraws from LeMans

The US Dyson Racing team has withdrawn from the Le Mans 24 Hours. Dyson, which won last year's American Le Mans Series, had planned to contest the race for the first time with a pair of Lola-Mazda B12/60 LMP1 coupes. Its entries were missing when a revised entry list for the big race on June 16/17 was published this morning.

The team's participation was known to be conditional on it finding the necessary finance to take part. Together with Status Grand Prix, its commercial and logistical partner for the French event, Dyson was seeking funding for four of the seats available, the other two being taken by team regulars Chris Dyson and Guy Smith.

Status is one of the beneficiaries of the Dyson's withdrawal. Its own entry, the Lola-Judd/BMW B12/80 LMP2 it is running in the European Le Mans Series, moves up from the reserve list along with the RLR-run Murphy Prototypes ORECA-Nissan 03. Autosport
