Räikkönen realized NASCAR is hard work

Kimi Räikkönen had a go in NASCAR on May, driving one GP in Trucks and Nationwide each, the latter being the second highest level in the North American series.

There were intense rumors that Räikkönen would also participate in the highest class of NASCAR, namely Sprint Cup. This rumor however hasn't so far been realized.

Jacques Villeneuve, the 1997 F1 champion, who currently is after a permanent seat in NASCAR has a theory on why Räikkönen hasn't been seen at oval tracks since May.

– I think he realized it wasn't going to be easy — so he went away. Villeneuve told Fox Sports.

– It's a lot more challenging than people think. You have to be willing to do the work, he added.

Räikkönen said last during last weekends testing in Finland that his plans are regarding next season are still open.
