IWI Watches is the inspiration of watch-maker Ian Walsh, who builds, finishes, inspects, calibrates and tests each individual watch produced. The watches themselves have all been designed to pay homage to motorsport, with classic dials evoking images of Fangio and Moss charging for the line.
As part of the agreement IWI Watches will receive prominent brand exposure including on-screen TV graphics, trackside signage, branding on live streaming, and on-car presence.
“We are truly delighted to welcome IWI Watches to the championship", says Robin Webb, Superleague Formula Competition Director. “The watches themselves really speak of motor sport and it is great to have partnered with a young, dynamic company who are ready to take on the world."
“Ian really understands motor racing and was heavily involved in supplying timing advice for Aston Martin´s assault on Le Mans.  We are proud to be instrumental in taking the IWI Watches brand around the world as an integral partner of Superleague Formula."
Tim Nadin, Commercial Director of IWI Watches adds: “We've been hugely impressed by the way that Superleague Formula has grown and matured into a great racing series. It´s a young championship and its growth fits perfectly with our own growth and aspirations."
“Now that the series has taken on such an international dimension, with races in such key growth markets such as China, Brazil and Australia there is a huge natural synergy between our two companies. The absolute accuracy of timing is at the heart of everything that we do, and we will now take that to some of the great race tracks of the world." The partnership will become active at the Superleague Formula Grand Prix of Belgium, which takes place at the Belgian race track on July 16 / 17.
